Young conservative star, Tomi Lahren of Dallas visited the women of ABC’s The View today. The View has been like a viper pit for conservative fans of President Trump, but Lahren held her own today.
Hot Topic: Travel Ban
Astoundingly, Lahren and renowned Trump-hater Joy Behar found common ground on one aspect of President Trump’s travel ban. Both women agreed Saudi Arabia should be added to the 6 other countries where extreme vetting should be employed.
Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen are the 6 countries whose immigrants the Trump administration maintains should be subject to extreme vetting before entering the U.S.
Behar questioned Lahren about what she calls President Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric. Western Journalism reports Behar asked Lahren, “Didn’t he [Trump] shoot himself in the foot when he said ‘Muslim ban'” during the campaign?
Lahren firmly explained to Behar the travel ban was not a Muslim ban because 90% of the world’s Muslims who might travel to the U.S. would not be subjected to extreme vetting, so the travel ban could not be a “Muslim ban.”
Lahren explained, “I like to look at policy, more than just talk.”
Hot Topic: Trump’s View of Women
Behar tried several different times to snark at Lahren, and Lahren shut her down every time. Behar even brought up the infamous Access Hollywood tape while asking Lahren about Trump’s treatment of women.
Tomi Lahren responded, “if we go back to the campaign… I looked at the things [Trump] said and I looked at the things that Hillary Clinton did, and I weigh them.” When Behar questioned her about what Hillary did, Lahren responded, “she stayed married to Bill Clinton.”
Lahren pointed out if President Trump was misogynistic, he would have never hired a woman to run his campaign.
